It was working yesterday. I tried to start it today and I get
Error: Could not find or load main class org.jvnet.substance.skin.SubstanceModerateLookAndFeel

I cannot find org.jvnet.substance.skin.SubstanceBusinessLookAndFeel or any file like that. What am I missing and where do I get it.

I tried to reinstall the tool and it still did not replaced the files. Any suggestions?

Hi Henry!

Thanks for the positive feedback and the excellent suggestion. Glad you are finding the tool useful :)

To be honest, I can't remember if this is configurable or not - I'll take a look.

Maybe it is time to open source the code! :D

Cheers!

Adam

This tool is pretty awesome! It would be nice if the Story Descriptions are also exported to CSV, instead of just the Story Name. Or is that already possible and I just missed a setting?

Hi Mark,

Thanks for the compliments regarding the tool. Really happy to see that people are still finding it useful after so many years!

In response to your question… no. Sorry. Two reasons…

Firstly, my focus is currently on my new initiative called team-sense.co.uk …feel free to check it out! :D

Secondly, I do not think that what you are asking for would really help, unless maybe you can convince me otherwise with an example? :)

The purpose of using a fixed point scheme (e.g. Fibonacci or geometric) is to simplify the sizing activity for the team, by reducing their options and helping them to reach a consensus faster.

Story sizing is imprecise by nature. We need size estimates that are just good enough and obtained with the minimum of sizing effort.

If people can choose any number, there is a danger that the team will waste effort debating the precise number when a rough size would be quite good enough.

Better for the team to be discussing the work, rather than the size :)

Hope this is of some help…

Adam

Story points

Hi and let me first off thank you for this small and elegant tool. I am new to product ownership and the scrum team as a whole is new to the whole concept, so that we are currently in the process of finding the best system for our needs. One thing we have found, is that our points system is different to the options you provide. Ideally I would like to be able to give any story an arbitratry amount of points as estimated by the scrum team. Is this something you could maybe offer?

Thanks and regards from Germany

you can just run the scrumpy.bat file after pressing quit. It works then!

When I try to install Scrumpy on Windows 8.1 (from a command shell, as administrator) the installation gets as far as step 7 of 8, which is an empty window. When I click "next" it thinks about it for a few moments then just returns the "next" button to the clickable state. Is Scrumpy compatible with Windows 8.1?

Unable to run after install

We had some trouble installing on Windows 7; I had to create a new directory off the C root in order to install. When running, it states that it is unable to find "javaw" and suggests that I incorrectly typed the command. Since it is a double click…

Any way I can help it to see the resources on the computer better? We have Java JRE 7 u60, as well as a Java Developers Kit. So, the file it needs is probably around somewhere.

What should I update to help it find what it needs?

Try to execute scrumpy.sh file in usr/local/scrumpy-1.4.5/bin using command

./scrumpy.sh

No go. Terminal just sits there. Yes the file is set to be executable with the permissions

rwxrwxrwx

Any reason this should hang? Thank you for any help. Very cool tool! Just can't run it all the sudden.

Allow the 8 dependency relationships between tasks and display the dependencies either in a gannt / pert chart or sorting or color highlight to show tasks that are related.

Alt + S used in multiple menus

in discussion General / Bug Reports » Alt + S used in multiple menus

Alt+S Imports stories. It is also mapped to create story, but is overridden by Import User Stories. You might want to give it Ctrl+S or something similar.

To reproduce:

1- open Scrumpy.
2- create a new Product
3- use Alt+S to create a new story. Note that Import User Stories dialog appears.
